This is a portrait of one of the Oregon Zoo’s bald eagles. The exhibit includes an open viewing platform, where visitors stand in the birds’ flight cage. This bird obligingly flew into their nearby snag and posed for several minutes right at eye level. It was an inspiring experience standing only a few feet away from him.
