| Beachcombingmule deer Colored Pencil on Fabriano 10" x 17" In October of 2006, we were wandering Dungeness Spit at Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. We saw a lot of things we expected to see, cormorants, scoters, the inevitable great blue heron, and then we saw this. Mule deer strolling along the beach, picking their way delicately through the glistening kelp. They saw us watching, chose to ignore us, and after their tidal walk, skipped easily up the steep, sandy dunes to the forest above. Back to the Color Gallery 2 page. |
