On a January afternoon in George Rogers Park, Lake Oswego, Oregon, the sun appears briefly to dapple light on the rhododendron bushes surrounding the historic iron stack. A towhee pauses to enjoy the warmth.

This piece was created for the 2005 Lake Oswego Visual Chronicle show. The rhododendrons have since been removed because of a renovation project.
