| Rocktop Nesterscommon murres Scratchboard and pen & ink on Esdee 24" x 10" Common murres, relatives of the penguins, nest on rock islands along the west coast each spring. This scene is based on a colony in Alaska. The rocks are a strong visual element, solid and powerful in contrast to the small but active birds. This piece was awarded on Honorable Mention at the 2004 Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts Open Show. Back to the Scratchboard 2 page | ||
